Accessibility Statement

Our goal

BuyInRio aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, so that everyone, including people who use assistive technology, can read our guides and use our building directory.

What we do

• A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page lets keyboard and screen-reader users jump past the menu.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and focused links and buttons are visibly outlined.
• Form fields have labels that screen readers announce.
• Text and background colours are chosen for readable contrast.

Known limitations

• The satellite maps on the home page and on building pages are visual aids. The building name, address and neighbourhood shown on each map are also written out as text on the page.
• Some charts show price trends as graphics. The key figures are also given in the text around them.
• Some older pages skip a heading level. We are correcting these as we update the pages.
