Residencial Edifício Rede Globo is the conversion of the original Rede Globo headquarters at Rua Jardim Botânico 266. After more than four decades as a broadcast facility, the building is returning to market as a 133-unit residential condominium developed by Performance — eight floors of studios and one-bedroom units averaging around 53 m², with the full leisure-and-amenity package you'd expect from a new launch.

It's the only commercial-to-residential conversion on this directory and the only place here offering sub-100 m² units. That makes it the easiest way into Jardim Botânico — the green, low-density neighborhood wrapping Parque Lage, the Botanical Garden and the back of Corcovado — at a price and unit size the older buildings on this list simply don't have.

History

Built around 1965 as the headquarters of Rede Globo, then a young national broadcaster, the building housed the company's operations on Rua Jardim Botânico through the decades it grew into Brazil's dominant media group.

Globo eventually moved its operations elsewhere and the property sat as a commercial asset before being bought for residential conversion. Performance, a Rio developer with more than twenty years in the market, is reworking the 5,600-plus-m² shell into 133 studio and one-bedroom apartments — keeping the original structural envelope and the historic street-facing façade while everything inside, including the leisure spaces, is new.
