A design hotel and cultural hub at the top of Vidigal.
Mirante do Arvrão sits at Rua Armando Almeida Lima 8, at the Arvrão viewpoint near the top of Vidigal, with one of the most photographed panoramas in Rio — the full sweep of the Zona Sul beaches from above. It is a boutique hotel, bar and restaurant with eight suites, each with a glass wall, balcony and sea view.
The project was designed by architect and artist Hélio Pellegrino and runs partly on solar panels, with art worked into the building throughout. It doubles as one of Vidigal's cultural engines, hosting music and events and channeling business toward local projects — its feijoada was named the best in Rio by Veja in 2023.
Address: Rua Armando Almeida Lima 8, Vidigal, Rio de Janeiro
The hotel emerged in the 2010s, part of the wave that turned upper Vidigal into a destination for visitors drawn by the views, the arts scene and the community's guesthouses. Built on the site of the old Arvrão lookout, it was designed from the start to serve both visitors and the neighborhood, and has become the best-known address at the top of the hill.
